I am Sjoerd.
I love booze.
I try to focus on whisk(e)y mostly, but I like many different kinds of distillates and brews.
I have no preference for a style of whisky, whether it’s Single Malt, Bourbon, Rye, Irish Pot Still, or whatever. Sometimes I dabble in other spirits like rum, absinthe, jenever, gin, mezcal, what have you.
Since 2014 I am also chief-editor of the club magazine of the Usquebaugh Society (De Kiln). A quarterly magazine by and for members of the club.
As a day job I develop web software at Emakina (formerly Relephant) in Amsterdam. I’m a sucker for media (books, music and tv shows). Going out consists of restaurants, bars and concerts.
I sometimes host a whisky tasting too. I’ve done so recently at home (obviously), but also at work, or at De Verwachting in Assendelft.
